Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Anti-wrinkle injections work by temporarily relaxing the muscles in the treated area. As a result, the wrinkles and lines in that area become less noticeable, giving your skin a smoother and more youthful appearance. The effects are not permanent, but they typically last for several months before gradually wearing off. For best results, you may need  to repeat treatments to maintain the desired effect.   WHAT DOES THE ANTI WRINKLE-TREATMENT INVOLVE?   The healthcare provider uses a fine needle to inject small amounts of botulinum toxin into specific muscles in the target area. The number of injections and the amount of toxin used depend on the patient’s individual anatomy and aesthetic goals. The injections are typically quick and relatively painless.   WHAT CAN BE TREATED BY ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS? Some common areas of the face that can be treated include:

  • Forehead lines: Horizontal lines that appear across the forehead when you raise your eyebrows.
  • Glabellar lines: Vertical lines between the eyebrows, often referred to as “frown lines” or “11 lines.”
  • Crow’s feet: Fine lines and wrinkles that radiate outward from the corners of the eyes when smiling or squinting.
  • Bunny lines: Wrinkles that form on the nose when smiling or scrunching the nose.
  • Perioral lines: Fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth, commonly known as “smoker’s lines” or “lip lines.”
  • Marionette lines: Lines that run from the corners of the mouth downward, giving the appearance of a downward turn of the mouth.
  • Chin dimpling: Dimpling or puckering of the chin caused by muscle contractions.
  • Jawline slimming It can be used to relax the masseter muscles, leading to a slimmer and more contoured jawline.
  • Neck bands: Horizontal lines or vertical bands that form on the neck due to muscle contractions.
  • Non- surgical brow lift

Botulinum toxin can also be used to treat excessive sweating around the armpit area. WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME AFTER ANTI WRINKLE INJECTION? One of the advantages of anti wrinkle injections is that they typically involve minimal downtime, allowing patients to resume their normal activities shortly after the procedure. Here’s what you can generally expect:

  • Immediate recovery: you can usually return to your daily activities immediately. There’s no need for a prolonged recovery period or time off work.
  • Temporary side effects: anti wrinkle injections are generally well-tolerated, some patients may experience mild side effects such as redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection sites. These effects are usually minor and resolve within a few hours to days.
  • Avoiding certain activities: To minimize the risk of side effects such as bruising, it’s typically recommended to avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol consumption, and blood-thinning medications.
  • Optimal results: While the effects of treatment  are not immediate, you may start to notice improvement in the treated areas within a few days to a week after the injections. The full effects typically develop over the course of 1 to 2 weeks.
  • Follow-up appointments: Your healthcare provider may schedule a follow-up appointment to assess the results of the treatment and determine if any touch-up injections are needed to achieve the desired outcome.
